Compass Health Protocols
We are so excited to welcome you to MTI soon! Below are the health protocols we’ll follow while you are with us.
As you enter Compass, we’d like to ask you to help us to lessen unwanted health impacts here if possible. You’ll soon see that Compass is a highly “community-based” program. Part of living in a community will mean that sometimes you’ll need to make choices for the sake of others.
Following are a few things we’d like to bring to your attention:
-
If you experience ANY of the following symptoms (fever, chills, pink eye, nausea, and vomiting), please remain in your room and contact us. If needed, we’ll zoom you into class and we’d ask you to please stay out of common areas, including meals. Please ask fellow participants to bring you food.
If you have ONE of the following symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, diarrhea, shortness of breath, fatigue, headache, body aches, etc.), please remain in your room and contact us to let us know. Depending on what’s happening in the program, we’ll ask you to do your best to lessen the likelihood of spread (choose distance from others in class and at meals/free time, masks, etc).
If you have TWO OR MORE of these symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, diarrhea, shortness of breath, fatigue, headache, body aches, etc.), please remain in your room and contact us. If 2 or more symptoms persist, we may ask you to take a Covid rapid test on day 2+ of symptoms.
We ask that you wait 24 hours after symptoms subside to rejoin community, but please also stay in touch with us to determine that timing.
-
Please keep in touch with us throughout your illness.
If you are confirmed positive for Covid19, RSV, or Influenza we’ll ask you to remain in your room and avoid public areas through at least day 3 (day 0 is the day of the onset of symptoms. Day 1 is the day after symptoms began.) Have your family or other participants help you by picking up meals for you from the kitchen. On day 4, if you are fever free without meds for 24 hours and your symptoms have steadily improved for at least 24 hours, you can return to class but must be masked* at all times at least through day 7. Please sit separately from others in the classroom/dining room through day 7.
If you have Norovirus, please stay in your room and away from community till 48 hours after your symptoms end. Norovirus is extremely contagious, and our community-based model makes sharing far too easy. Fresh sheets and cleaning supplies can be found in the laundry room. Please keep in touch with us throughout your illness.
If you are confirmed positive for Pink Eye in one eye, we’ll ask you to remain in your room with medication for 24 hours before rejoining community. If it spreads to your other eye, the clock restarts for another 24 hours on medication before rejoining community.
Please head to the CDC website for current regulations.
*MASKS – please use a KN95 or surgical quality mask, not a cloth one (ask at the front desk if you need one)
Life on life community is a beautiful thing, but it’s also a challenge to our very “independent” culture and nature. Our desire here at MTI is that health protocols stay in the background and your time here would be full of growing and learning the things the Lord has designed for your time here.
